What is a high-pressure roll pellet machine?

A high-pressure roller press ball machine is equipment used to compress powdered materials into spherical shapes. This type of press has a wide range of applications, enabling the compaction, granulation, or balling of materials such as aluminum chips, activated carbon, alumina, bauxite, caustic soda, charcoal, clay, coke fines, coal, cryolite, fertilizers, plastics, limestone, pigments, urea, and potassium salts. The primary purpose of this process is to reduce dust generation, control bulk density, facilitate material recovery, and enhance transportation properties. Notably, the machine’s production capacity is specifically tailored for use in the pelleting stage of the Pidgeon process, which is employed in magnesium production from raw materials like dolomite and magnesite.

To meet the material-formation requirements, the pre-compression screw is equipped with an electromagnetic variable-speed motor, and the speed control is manually operated. The formed pellets are then fed into a screening machine; those meeting quality standards are packaged, while the undersize material—material that didn’t form into pellets—is returned to be mixed with fresh feedstock before being re-compressed into pellets.

Requirements for forming materials in a high-pressure roller ball press:

1. Material particle size can range from 80 to 200 mesh.

2. No metal objects are allowed in the material—otherwise, the roller surface could be damaged.

3. The material supply must be adequate; it is recommended to use a variable-speed screw feeder, allowing you to monitor the return material flow and adjust the fresh material feed accordingly.
