The dry powder ball press machine is a versatile piece of equipment designed to compress various powders, granules, waste materials, and residues—including coal powder, iron powder, coking coal, aluminum powder, iron filings, iron oxide scale, carbon powder, charcoal powder, slag, gypsum, tailings, sludge, kaolin, activated carbon, and coke fines. Widely used across industries such as refractories, power plants, metallurgy, chemical processing, energy production, transportation, and heating systems, the material formed by this machine is not only energy-efficient and environmentally friendly but also easy to transport. This process significantly boosts the utilization of waste materials while delivering substantial economic and social benefits.

The roller shells of the dry powder ball press machine are made from 65 manganese cast steel. After undergoing a special heat treatment, their hardness can reach over 58 HRC. The roller shells feature a modular assembly design, allowing for easy replacement once worn out. Additionally, the machine is equipped with a cushioning system that effectively protects the equipment from impacts caused by hard objects. The dry powder ball press machine also includes an adjustable bowl mechanism, ensuring that the two roller-shell bowls remain precisely within the adjustable range—preventing any misalignment altogether.

The structural principle of the dry powder ball press machine:

The dry powder ball press machine operates as follows: The main motor transmits power to the reducer via a V-belt. The reducer, in turn, transfers the motion through a coupling to the drive shaft, which is connected to a pair of open gears—ensuring that the two roller shafts rotate synchronously (at equal speeds but in opposite directions). Meanwhile, the piston of the hydraulic cylinder on the driven roller presses against the roller (in constant-pressure systems, this is achieved by a wedge-shaped iron block). System pressure is maintained by a hydraulic circuit equipped with control valves and an accumulator. Material is fed uniformly into the machine’s hopper from a storage bin, thanks to a precise metering device. The flow rate can be adjusted using a gate valve located above the hopper, ensuring even distribution of material precisely between the counter-rotating rollers. As the rollers compress the material, the forming pressure gradually increases from low to high, reaching its peak at the central line connecting the two rollers. Once the material passes this critical point, the forming pressure rapidly decreases, allowing the compressed material to release easily and facilitating smooth ball ejection.

Manufacturing process:

The kiln-exited lime is screened, and the fine powder smaller than 3mm is fed into a high-pressure balling machine to form spherical pellets measuring 35mm × 25mm × 15mm (length × width × thickness). These pellets can also be custom-made according to the buyer’s specific requirements. The resulting pellets achieve a bulk density of 1.9–2.2 g/cm³, with drop strength comparable to that of lump lime. After screening, the qualified pellets are transferred to the finished-product storage bin for use in metallurgical processes.

Installation of the dry powder ball press machine:

Before installing the dry powder briquetting machine, carefully follow electrical installation standards to route the cables properly. Keep high-voltage and low-voltage lines separate and routed independently to prevent interference. In open outdoor environments, ensure independent external lightning protection measures are in place. Additionally, the machine itself must be properly grounded to avoid issues like static electricity buildup that could affect its performance. During installation, make sure the power, communication, and video cables are connected correctly—double-check against the installation instructions to confirm the communication method and proper pin definitions. As a general guideline, the equipment should be installed during the final stages of construction to prevent excessive dust from entering the machine and compromising its functionality and longevity.
