Features of the dry powder ball press machine

Time:Feb 09,2022

When it comes to dry powder balling machines, many people are already familiar with them—but some who don’t know much about the topic might wonder: What exactly is a dry powder balling machine used for, and how has it managed to capture such a strong foothold in the market? Let’s dive into the reasons behind the invention of this innovative machine!

A dry powder briquetting machine, as its name suggests, is designed specifically for compressing dry powders. In the past, lime powder used in China's metallurgical industry was often discarded or repurposed, leading to significant waste of valuable resources. However, with the growing scarcity of resources and energy, the efficient use of lime powder in metallurgy has increasingly come under scrutiny. Since 2001, relevant institutions in the metallurgical sector have tackled this challenge through scientific research, developing a solution: employing dry powder briquetting machines to compress kiln-derived powders into spherical shapes for subsequent smelting processes. Today, this technology has already been adopted by several overseas steel plants, as well as by domestic giants like Baosteel and Ansteel. Dry powder briquetting machines are primarily used for compacting and agglomerating materials that contain no moisture—such as quicklime powder, magnesium oxide powder, copper concentrate powder, chromite ore powder, lead-zinc scrap, bauxite, non-ferrous metal powders, refractory materials, and ceramic components. These machines utilize electromagnetic vibration feeding and spiral pre-compression systems to ensure higher extrusion pressure, delivering products that meet—and even exceed—user expectations!

Dry Powder Briquetting Machine Features:

Dry Powder Briquetting Machine Also known as a high-pressure dry powder briquetting machine. Compared to conventional briquetting machines, the high-pressure dry powder briquetting machine has the following features:

1) The material to be formed must have a fine particle size and cannot be mixed with water—it must be dry-pressed.

2) High power, low speed—typically, the average rotational speed of a dry powder ball press does not exceed 10 rpm. For the same production output, however, the required power is often significantly higher, usually five times or more than that of a briquette ball press.

3) Hydraulic clamping is essential because the dry powder ball presser generates an enormous load—so much so that conventional mechanical clamping systems and standard roller presses can no longer meet the demands. Therefore, all units are equipped with hydraulic clamping devices that can automatically adjust and maintain pressure as needed.

4) Roller shell treatment: Due to the high pressing force required for pelletizing and the specialized nature of the material, the core components of the dry powder ball press machine must be made not from ordinary cast steel, but rather forged from alloy steel, followed by overall quenching and heat treatment. Only when the roller shell achieves a hardness level nearly equivalent to that of bearing steel can it reliably meet the system's demands.

In short, the key features of the dry powder ball press machine can be summarized in one sentence: high power, high pressure.
