Why isn't the ball forming properly when using the ball press machine?
Time:Apr 21,2021
A common issue users encounter when operating a briquetting machine is that the formed balls fail to hold their shape. The ball-forming rate of the machine serves as a key indicator of its overall quality, making the condition of the equipment itself one of the primary factors affecting this rate. Aside from any potential problems with the machine itself, the following four factors can also significantly reduce the efficiency of briquette formation:
1. Ratio of Materials to Binder
Materials that are difficult to shape require the addition of a binder during compression to assist the process; otherwise, the pressing results will be compromised. Additionally, uneven distribution of the binder is also one of the factors that can lead to poor pellet formation in the press machine.
Two Material particle size
Because smaller particle sizes promote tighter packing of particles—physically speaking, smaller particles leave less space between each other, while larger particles create more gaps—particles that are either too large or too small tend to be difficult to mold into a cohesive structure.
3. Moisture Content of Materials
Moderate moisture can act as an excellent lubricant, enhancing the strength of the machinery. However, if there’s too much water, the particle surface layer becomes thicker, and when the moisture content is high, material tends to stick to the pressure rollers. This can lead to incomplete product shapes and ultimately reduce the balling efficiency.
4. Pressure Too Low
For different materials, the required linear pressure for molding varies—materials that are harder to shape demand higher pressure. If the pressure isn’t sufficient, the extruded material may fail to take its intended form. In such cases, you might consider using High-Pressure Ball Press Machine To carry out suppression.
